She backs Michele for 'Funny Girl'

Kristin Chenoweth has said that Glee star Lea Michele would be perfect to play the lead role in a remake of the classic musical Funny Girl.

Funny Girl, the 1968 film adaptation starred Barbra Streisand in the now iconic role of Fannie Brice and Kristin Chenoweth claims that Michele would have no trouble taking on the mantle.

"I think that girl can do anything wants to do," Kristin Chenoweth told The Hollywood Reporter, when asked if she thought that Michele would be suitable for the role.

"Not only is Lea a delightful person, but she's a good singer and that's what's required," Kristin Chenoweth explained.

BTW, Kristin Chenoweth are being honored by GLAAD. GLAAD will present the 39-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer with the award at its annual Media Awards in New York, on 19 March. Kristin Chenoweth is also being honored by the organization for her work to promote better understanding. Kristin Chenoweth will receive the Vanguard Award at an event in Los Angeles on 10 April. It was the perfect song choice. She conveyed it with empathy towards those who lost their lives & to the 9/11 victum's families. It was already an emotional ceremony (I was crying beforehand - you had to be there), but I found myself bawling after she performed. Kudos to you, Cheno, and God bless.

Tony and Emmy winner Kristin Chenoweth has extended her stay with the revival of Promises, Promises through December. Chenoweth and her Tony-nominated and Emmy Award-winning co-star, Sean Hayes, will play their final performance together Dec. 26.

In May 2010, Kristin Chenoweth wrote
in response to an article in Newsweek by Ramin Setoodeh, an openly gay writer. Setoodeh thought that her Tony-nominated Promises, Promises co-star, Sean Hayes, "comes off as wooden and insincere" in playing the straight character Chuck, and that Jonathan Groff has a similar credibility problem in the TV show Glee. He questioned whether any openly gay actor could acceptably portray a straight character.

Kristin Chenoweth called the article "horrendously homophobic" and criticized Setoodeh's view as rationalizing "the same kind of bullying" that gay youths face in high school. Chenoweth argued that audiences "come to the theater to go on a journey" and do not care about an actor's sxual orientation. The story was picked up approvingly by major media including The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

The starry revival of Burt Bacharach and Hal David's hit 1968 musical Promises, Promises, which began previews March 27 at the Broadway Theatre, features two songs interpolated into the classic score.

As previously reported, the revival — which co-stars Emmy winner Sean Hayes as Chuck Baxter and Tony and Emmy winner Kristin Chenoweth as Fran Kubelik — features the addition of the Bacharach-David hit "I Say a Little Prayer," which is performed by Fran (Chenoweth) and "The Girls." i don't know about anybody else but to me its the best movie ever!! its a good family comedy. if u haven't watched it yet then u need to go watch it. buy it, rent it or even go borrow it. i would recommend this movie to anybody that needs a good laugh. i love it, i love it, i love it!! he-he i know i am a crazy chick. he-he. i don't like the other couple. the couple that lives on the RV. they are annoying. makes you want to rip out your hair, no wonder they weren't trying 2 get away from them. i would to. matter in fact i would tell them wear to go if they bugged me bad enough and long enough. he-he. i am not that mean about it but damn. they kept chasing them down and it felt like they were stalking them. i know the people that lived in the trailer were trying to give back the people that were on vacation their laptop back, but gosh why go through all that trouble.

I've seen all the original peter Sellers films and thought they were fun, but i loved Steve Martin's take On Inspector Jacque Clousea, i didn't expect much from, this movie and the trailer did nothing for me, but when i sat in the theatre, it was just laugh out loud Hilarious, especially the scene where clousea was trying to annunciate the word Hamburger,and ends up saying DamBurguer, i want a Damburgeur!lol Classic, Beyonce was fun and Great in it Jean reno and Kevin Kleind were awesome to, this Movie Brings Pink panther Back to True form for a new generation! If you have, however, you'll get it. The film feels at times as fluffy as a musical comedy - indeed it has visual references to several - and at other times like screwball or sitcom. Generically confusing, therefore, but that's part of the fun. Why have a boring linear narrative in a single genre when you can do anything you want to? Lots of analogies between the 'magic' of film and movie-making, and witchcraft itself. Also, no patriarchal nonsense about women having to give up their powers, as with so many witch films. This is a bubbly, not-entirely-consistent roller-coaster ride - give it a try. You might like it.

I think the reason so many people don't like this version is because they are against the idea of a remake, rather that remake is good or bad. Personally, I never liked the original film version of "The Music Man". I don't understand why everyone raves about it so much. I thought the film was poorly done. The backgrounds look like cheap sets from a high school play. I think the chemistry between Robert Preston & Shirley Jones could've been a lot better. There was enough focus on them. It never really seemed as if Preston's Hill was in love with Marian.

However, I love this new version. The sets are 1,000 times better. It actually looks real - go figure! I thought the chemistry between Broderick & Chenoweth was much better, and the increased attention paid to their relationship made the film much more romantic. The added bonus was that the believability.

Annie movie is far superior over the 1980s movie. An excellent cast and a movie that sticks much closer to the original Broadway show. Alicia Morton is a delightful child actor with a great voice. Victor Garber (one of my all time favorite actors) was a wonderful Daddy Warbucks. Alan Cumming is perfect casting as Rooster. The only negative I have of this movie is Kathy Bates. She was the weakest part of the movie.

Their friendship struggles through their opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, their reactions to the Wizard's corrupt government, and, ultimately, Elphaba's public fall from grace. The plot is set mostly before Dorothy's arrival from Kansas, and includes several references to well-known scenes and dialogue in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz as a backstory.

The musical debuted on Broadway on October 30, 2003. It was produced by Universal Pictures and directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento. Its original stars were Idina Menzel as Elphaba, Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda, and Joel Grey as the Wizard. Although the production received mixed reviews and was panned by The New York Times, it has proved to be a favorite among patrons. While Phil's experience as a "Three" includes relatively pleasant scenes of feasts and parades, brother Benny is a "Four," meaning he is included in all ten plagues. As things progress and everything begins to fall apart, Phil finds himself behind the cameras as the film's director, with Benny in a starring role. The two fall in love with Louise, leading to a brother vs. brother rivalry typical of epic movies.

This is one of my favorite movies by far. It is a very original story and one that is hard to get tired of.

It manages to keep a light and humorous mood while still creating a dramatic setting and it will keep you entertained throughout.

The biggest problem with this movie is that Will Ferrell proved that he can act. I mean, he is fantastic. I don't know that I can watch him in these goof ball roles anymore.

It has so many scenes that I watch over and over again and I can't find another word to describe it except for "Wonderful" See it, you'll be glad you did.
